A Message From Our President

Dear Friends and Members,

Welcome! I am so excited to greet you as we embark on another season of growing, learning, and connection.

At Squamish Gardeners, we're more than a club – we're a tight-knit community united by our passion for gardening and our dedication to environmental stewardship. Through collaboration and education, we're cultivating a greener, more vibrant world, one plant at a time.

In the coming months, our club will continue to blossom with exciting events, educational speakers, and collaborative projects aimed at nurturing both our gardens and our connections with one another. From community clean-up efforts to our annual plant sale, every endeavor we undertake is a testament to our shared values and collective impact.

Keep Growing,

Ron Long

Join us Monday, September 21 at 7 pm (Sandman Hotel) for an evening with Ron Long, where he'll present part one of his three part photographic essay titled The Fascinating Native Flora of British Columbia.
Ron had a thirty-six year career as the sciences photographer at Simon Fraser University. During this time he picked up a great deal of biological knowledge and developed a deep interest in nature.

He is active in both the photographic and naturalist communities in British Columbia, and lectures extensively on both photographic and nature subjects. He had a parallel career teaching photography at Kwantlen Polytechnic University.

Now retired, Ron travels to nature hotspots around the world to photograph plants, birds and animals as material for his lectures.
